NOTE: As part of my insurance I can only offer this practice to women I have taught before but if you are new to my classes I would just need to have a consultation of sorts with you first. LUNAR PHASE FOR THIS PRACTICE

FULL MOON ~ the peak of the lunar cycle calls for celebratory and soothing work. The full moon is typically a time of abundance, completion and celebration. With awareness heightened, all emotions magnified and shadow realms more accessible this can be a potent time for self-enquiry, insights and understanding.

PRACTICE FOCUS: Grounding into our Animal needs, Opening the heart to compassion and taking the pressure off <3

We are animals with animal needs and there is a part of us that knows the key to life is simplicity but it’s so easy for it to get complicated because we’re often far removed from the wild simplicity of our basic needs.

We’ve also been domesticated and domesticated animals are never quite as in touch with their wants, needs and natures as their wild counterparts. They tend to struggle and suffer somewhat when taken from their natural habitats, however beautiful and spacious their enclosures.

On a normal day our domesticated lives in captivity can make it difficult to listen to the needs of our animal bodies (our 'baby needs' as my friend Cherry calls them) but even more so now when so many of us are restricted in our movements and removed from the contact we so desperately need as human animals.

So this week as I remembered this I decided to go easy on myself, to myself some grace, to let myself off the hook, offering permission to get things wrong, to not take care of myself in the way I usually might, to feel a whole range of complicated and often conflicting emotions, to be an animal in captivity the best I can. And by the best I can I don’t mean trying really hard, I mean showing up for yourself with understanding, tolerance, patience and compassion.

Through our practice we will explore grounding - connecting to our bodies and our needs and heart opening - offering ourselves compassion, understanding, tolerance and patience (and/or of course whatever you personally want to offer yourself today!).

FIERCE FREE FLOW

Fierce Free Flow is a fiery, playful and feminine approach to flow that seeks to ignite the inner fire, unleash wildness and liberate movement and energy.

An invitation to invoke your inner wild woman, incite rebellion and surrender to the flow. This practice invites you to release stuck energy, shed inhibitions, and liberate yourself to explore intuitive primal movement.

Dynamic, fluid and playful asana to a diverse and danceable playlist.

Open to women (including any person who identifies as women inclusive of nonbinary/trans people) of all ages, life stages and cycle phases, including babies and young children.

Suitable in pregnancy (after 14 weeks) if you have an established practice and know how to take care of yourself. The adaptive and intuitive nature of this style of practice invites you to move in the ways that suit and serve your body in this particular season of life.

This is dynamic women's yoga practice which is more suitable for the spring, summer and autumn phases but the adaptive and intuitive style invites you to move in ways that suit and serve your body whatever season of the cycle of life you find yourself in.

WHAT TO EXPECT:

Zoom as a platform offers us the chance to each see each other face to face as a group no matter where in the world we are! You can mute your end at any time and turn off your video! The link will be sent to you via email on booking. It's free and super easy to use. Please download in advance and test your audio/video to avoid any delays on your end.

Arrive early for a tea, a chat and some card pulling if you want to anytime from 16:45

Opening check in ~ at the start of the session we'll do some centring to land and arrive and then split into breakout rooms of 2-3 to share for 2-3 minutes each like we would in a women's circle, holding quiet space for each other without response or comment. Totally optional - you can always choose to not join a room and move, breath, lie down, drink tea, journal instead!

MY TEACHING STYLE

When it comes to yoga I love to work hard, play hard and rest incredibly hard! I like to sweat, dance, roll around, laugh, cry, try things I don't think I can do, explore things I love and liberate myself from the confines of structure and form to invoke feelings of freedom and wildness.

My intention as a teacher is to invite the exploration of freedom and unearth the many individual pathways to liberation through movement, self enquiry, meditation and breath. Exploring resistance, defences and patterns through the lens of movement, meditation and relaxation to discover the freedom to breathe well, move well and live well.

I seek to offer an inclusive, supportive, autonomous and nurturing environment which offers the space and freedom to explore the practice in a way that suits and serves our ever shifting mental, physical and emotional needs.

I love to explore challenge as I feel yoga can reveal to us that we are capable of so much more than we think we are and helps to challenge self-limiting beliefs.

I offer movement inspired by our wild nature; playful, spontaneous, fluid and self-guided and regularly weave stories, themes and ideas from daily life and nature into the practices. My teachings are very much rooted in the modern day whilst also drawing inspiration from the traditions of the practice and the old ways.

I choose to bring the truth of how I feel to each and every class because I truly believe the more human we can be with each other, the easier it becomes for us to be human.
