About The Event
Spring Equinox Full Moon Yoga & Yoga Nidra
A practice in honour of women, nature and the moon
A celebratory and soothing evening of gentle, fluid movement, deep relaxation and moon bathing in honour of the Full Worm Moon in Libra.
‘Faith is the bird that feels the light when the dawn is still dark.’ ~ Rabindranath Tagore
On this day of equal light and dark as we hang on the cusp of change and new beginnings we honour polarity, opposing forces and contradictions. We honour day and night, sun and moon and all four elements in balance. We honour our conscious and subconscious mind, our logic and our intuition, shadow and persona, our inner and outer worlds, receptivity and activity, the ebb and flow, life and death of our existence.
As we begin to stir from the deep sleep of winter we gather to honour what we were, what we are and what we might become.
Embodying lunar cycles connects us back to the rhythms of nature and our own inner rhythms. Humans, like all animals, are cyclical beings. Our bodies, systems and lives exist through a multitude of different rhythms, cycles and fluctuations and the moon acts as a beautiful, visual reminder of these rhythms and the importance of honouring the waxing and waning of our needs and natures. The moon is one of the oldest keepers of rhythm to which we have long felt a strong connection and a deep yearning, serving as a regular reminder of our innate rhythmic roots.
The full moon is a time of abundance, completion, manifestation and celebration. When the moon is full we are said to have more awareness than usual and to be more in touch with our shadow, which can help us to have powerful realisations and insights. The perfect time to gather together as women in celebration and restoration.
