About The Event

Wild Forest Yoga and Conifer Talk (with Michelle Sawbridge - Praties)

An exploration of nature and yoga to cultivate rootedness and connection and nurture our sense of wonder.

Women only gathering, babies and children free

~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
WHAT TO EXPECT...
Last August we delved into birch trees, this May we gather amongst the pines.
We will head into the forest for a nurturing and enlivening morning yoga practice in the forest closing with a wild nidra under the canopy.
Followed by a fascinating, informative and interactive talk about the world of conifers with our resident nature expert Michelle Sawbridge - Praties. During this walking talk you will learn how to identify the various different types of conifers and the symbiotic relationships that exist within the forest. There will be an identification handout to take away.
Wild Yoga and Yoga Nidra ~ taking our practices back to nature to reclaim our wildness through play, primal movement and deep rest
Mindfulness in Nature ~ Taking time to simply be and to let our senses be completely captivated by the natural world
Wild Woman Forest Knowledge ~ Gathering in the forest to learn more about the natural world and to understand the interconnections and symbiotic relationships. This session will focus on learning more about conifers and ways to identify the various different types.
Facilitators
Carly Slade
Carly is a musician, yoga teacher, rewilding advocate and women’s circle facilitator with a passion for yoga nidra, yoga for women’s health and menstruality and a deep love for music and nature (especially dogs, trees, mountain music and the moon).
Pine trees have long been a passion of mine. This year I even tattooed my commitment to the pine forest on my ring finger! Married to the trees <3 I learned everything I know about identifying conifers from Michelle and can't wait for this event to brush up!
Michelle Sawbridge-Praties
Michelle inherited her obsession with nature and being outdoors from her parents. Hours spent sitting in bird hides or next to a fishing rod gave her time to appreciate nature, including all the small things. She loves to notice the cause and effect animals and plants have on each other and the environment, and how we can try and understand these further.
