About The Event

Women's Nature & Yoga Retreat

9th to 14th July 2018

Cornwall, UK

We women as cyclical beings ebb and flow with the rhythms of nature and experience those subtle rhythms within our own bodies but in the modern world our needs can often go unheard.

In coming together as women in sacred space we feel nurtured, supported and understood, allowing us to hear and honour these unheard needs. Immersing ourselves in nature and her cycles is a powerful way for us to reaffirm our connection with the inner and outer rhythms that guide and inform our very being.

Through movement and embodiment practices, reconnecting to nature and deep rest and ritual we will turn down the volume of demands and expectations, making space for the sacred sound of our inner rhythms. It is these rhythms that will set the tempo for our time together. Each woman fully empowered to hear and respond to cyclical cues and in that to discover the power and freedom that comes from a life lived in sync.

Where

A quiet and secluded campsite nestled between the Cornish coast and the moors of Bodmin in the quaint village of St Kew.

"The site is unique. A woodland valley folded around a clear, spring-fed lake created from the old Tregildrans Quarry. Our tipis and tent pitches are dotted about this secret 20 acres clothed in ferns and bluebells, oak and meadowsweet. Left in peace for many years there's been no modern chemicals & poisons on the land, meaning we've got bluebells & dormice, Red Admirals & shy woodland Jays for you to spot.

It’s a place a world apart from the rush and clutter of the modern holiday experience, with an atmosphere that makes you forget the world outside, and just lounge, ramble, or potter about in a boat."- Gosel Tom-Baird, Owner

Carly has been visiting this campsite to retreat to nature for years and can't wait to share this magical place with you.

What

Moving away from the constraints of time and the pressures of daily life our days will be spent immersed in nature experiencing intuitive, nurturing and empowering practices, coming together in sacred space for ceremony and ritual and nourishing our bodies with wholesome vegan food cooked on the campfire by our dear friends and incredible cooks The Wandering Vegans.

This retreat invites us to collectively and individually experience what it would be to experience life lived at an intuitive pace.

For more information about this work and the practices please take a read through the about section of the website.

To read what the women who have been coming to our forest gatherings, retreats and moon circles have to say, please take a look at our testimonials page.

Who

Carly and Lisa met on their yoga teacher training course and bonded immediately over their love of nature, wildlife and long, intense and meandering conversations. During the first two years of their friendship they didn't even know the mundane details of each others lives, every second spent picking over the wonders of life and nature.

Their first co-created project was a Rewilding Retreat In May 2017. The retreat took place in a secluded vegetarian guest house tucked into the hills of the Lake District surrounded by acres of private forest. The usual constraints of time were left far behind as we explored forests, lakes and mountains, danced and sang around midnight forest campfires, swam in wild waters, breathed and moved together in our sacred space and bared all in beautiful sharing circles and ceremonies.

They are beyond excited to take this work into the hidden paradise of this Cornwall hideaway.

Inclusivity policy:

This retreat is open to women of all ages and life stages

In times past we would have shared so much more of life with each other than we do now and this would have included the raising of children. They would have been welcomed into the lodge and raised communally, garnering the invaluable knowledge and wisdom of the ebb and flow of all things. This inclusive and open environment is crucially important to the rewilding of life and as such our retreat is open to women of all ages, circumstances and life stages.

Whether pregnant, lactating, with nurturing small babies or children, with or without a womb, working with a monthly bleed or not, peri-menopausal, menopausal or in the wisdom years, all women are welcomed.

We all have our own unique wisdom to bring and stories to tell. This passing down of wisdom through the generations is an ancient practice without which we suffer. The reinstatement of the inclusive nature of moon lodges and gatherings provides an invaluable space of healing, learning, nurturing, retreat and replenishment. The pace of our modern lives means that creating this space that is more crucial and essential to our wellbeing than ever before.

If you are bringing children or babies we just ask that you are happy to be fully responsible for them at all times, to understand what that means in terms of your participation and to ensure they are kept safe.

Women exclusive retreat

Creating a space where women feel fully heard, felt and held is our aim for this retreat. Many women have experienced suffering in some way, be that mentally, physically, sexually or all of these. We feel it is crucially important to have this safe space to explore the regaining of trust in our bodies, minds and emotions. It is for this reason that our retreats are women only. We do not wish to exclude, accuse or demonise men in any way shape or form, we are just coming together in the sacred space of our sisterhood to relearn how to trust and love, so that we might be better able to trust and love in our own intimate relationships, families and friendships.

Please do get in touch if you have any questions.
